An order that sat for four minutes because a driver was delayed in traffic is a different problem than one that sat for four minutes because it wasn’t marked ready. What the data tells you over time 

Pickup data also provides insight across a whole network. Operators can compare dwell time by region, store format, or channel. They can see whether delays cluster around customer pickups or third-party delivery. They can track how order size or menu mix affects pickup timing. 

One of the sharpest use cases: reclaimed orders, or orders pulled by an associate instead of picked up by the customer or driver. A rise in reclaimed orders can point to a workflow breakdown. A well-meaning employee handing an order straight to a guest at the counter, bypassing the system entirely, corrupts the tracking data and undercuts the whole point of having it. With visibility into this pattern, managers can catch it fast and retrain before it becomes habit.
